Got a broken kettle or a lamp that’s seen better days? Don’t throw it out! Action West London is hosting a free repair workshop to help people in our community gain valuable electrical fixing skills.
We’re collecting your unwanted but fixable small electrical items to be used in a workshop for unemployed individuals looking to learn. The best part? Any items we can fix will be donated to local charities for those who need them most. It’s a win-win: you declutter, someone learns a new skill, and a useful item gets a second chance!
We need donations of small electrical items that are unwanted but fixable!
Please note: We cannot accept the following items for donation and repair
- Phones/tablets, Laptop screens
- Large battery packs, for example e-bikes, scooters, hoverboards
- Microwaves
- Power tools or high-wattage electricals
- Televisions , Monitors , Printers
- Large white goods e.g. fridges/washing machines/dryers
Donated items should be placed in the donation bins
- In a bag or large enveloped along with any chargers or cables for them

If you are passionate about sustainability and looking for a new skill that could change your life? Action West London is excited to announce a new hands-on training workshop focused on repairing small electrical and electronic equipment. This is more than just a repair session; it’s a chance to learn a valuable skill, gain a certification, and take a step toward a brighter, more sustainable future.
What to Expect
In this half-day, in-person workshop, you’ll be guided by expert fixers from organisations like the Fixing Factory. You’ll first observe their skilled repair work on various electrical items. Then, you’ll get hands-on and try the repairs yourself, with support every step of the way. You’ll learn how to identify repairable items, troubleshoot common problems, and bring old tech back to life. Following the training, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to undertake a Level 1 certification in repair and PAT testing. This certification can open doors to new employment opportunities and give you a recognised qualification for your CV.
