Moving Together: How Movement on the Mount is Transforming Women’s Fitness in Acton

Since launching in November 2025, our Movement on the Mount programme has been a whirlwind of energy, community, and empowerment. We are incredibly proud to announce that we have already welcomed 50 local women through our doors, each taking a brave first step towards a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Supported by funding from Sport Englands, Movement fund, our mission is simple: to make fitness accessible, inclusive, and fun for women who might normally find it difficult to access traditional gyms or exercise classes.
A Partnership of Experts
To bring the very best coaching to Acton, we have teamed up with fantastic local partners who share our passion for community health. By working with local fitness providers including, Keep Fit Karen, Ealing Fit Club, and Elevate Arts, we are able to offer professional, high-quality instruction in a friendly and relaxed environment.
A Class for Every Body

We believe that movement should never be “one size fits all.” That is why our timetable is packed with a diverse range of sessions designed to support women at every stage of life. Since our start in November, our participants have been enjoying:
-
Street Dance (with Elevate Arts): High-energy classes that feel more like a party than a workout.
-
HIIT Training & Pelvic Floor Health (with Ealing Fitness Club): Targeted sessions to build strength, stamina, and core wellbeing.
-
Older Adults Fitness & Dance (with Keep Fit Karen): Tailored exercises focusing on mobility, balance, and staying active at any age.
-
Stretch & Relax (with Keep Fit Karen): Dedicated time to de-stress, improve flexibility, and calm the mind.
At the Heart of the Community
You don’t need a fancy gym membership to get moving. We’ve brought our classes directly to the heart of the neighbourhood, holding sessions at St Mary’s Church and Oak Tree Church halls. By using these familiar, local spaces, we are breaking down the barriers that often make “fitness” feel intimidating or out of reach.
Why Movement on the Mount Matters

The remit of this project is to reach those who don’t normally find fitness accessible. Whether it’s due to cost, location, or simply not feeling like the “typical” gym-goer, we are here to bridge that gap.
Thanks to the support from Sport England, we provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where local women can connect, move, and feel better. Seeing 50 women join us in such a short space of time proves that when you make movement approachable and local, the community responds with open arms.
Join the Movement
We aren’t stopping at 50! If you’ve been looking for a way to get active but didn’t know where to start, we would love to welcome you. Our classes are about more than just exercise; they are about building confidence and community right here on the Mount.
