Celebrating Faith, Belief and Community: AWL Wins at the London Dangoor Awards 2026

Last week, our Chair of Trustees, Tony Coyne, and fellow Trustee, Rev Joseph Fernandes, attended the Faith & Belief Forum’s London Dangoor Awards 2026 — a wonderful annual celebration of the capital’s diverse faith and belief communities.

Supported by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London’s Council on Faith, the event brought together organisations, volunteers, local leaders, and community champions from across the city, all united by a shared commitment to inclusion, dignity, and solidarity.

It was one of those evenings where London feels like the best version of itself: warm, open, proudly diverse, and deeply human.

Action West London Recognised

We are absolutely delighted to share that earlier this week we were awarded the 2026 Dangoor Award in the Community Engagement – Tackling Poverty category.

For a charity rooted in West London’s vibrancy and complexity, this award means a great deal. It recognises the everyday commitment of our staff, volunteers, and partners, who work tirelessly to create welcoming spaces where everyone feels valued — no matter their journey, background, or belief.

Over 25 Years of Community Impact

For over 25 years, Action West London has worked to transform lives across our local communities:

• Employment Support: Dedicated programmes helping people build confidence and move into meaningful work.

• Education & Skills: Practical training tackling literacy, numeracy, and digital skills.

• Social Enterprise: Guidance and support helping individuals launch their own self-employment journeys.

Our team is incredibly proud of the work we do every day to support West London residents, challenge barriers, and create lasting opportunities.

Looking Forward

The evening was a powerful reminder that London is at its best when its communities stand together across beliefs, cultures, languages, and identities.

Action West London will continue to build bridges, challenge discrimination, and create spaces where people can learn, grow, and thrive.
