Six months on: First accredited electrical repair course launches in Brent
It has been six months since we last ran our repair workshops in Brent. Since then, the programme has had a major upgrade. What started as introductory sessions has now evolved into a formal, two-part accredited course designed to help people learn practical green skills and find pathways into the circular economy.
Yesterday (16th July), we hosted Brents, first official Level 1 accredited training session.
What our trainees got stuck into

Our group of trainees moved quickly from theory to practical, hands-on work. Under the guidance of our lead fixers, they learned how to:
-
Safely handle and work with small electrical appliances.
-
Visually spot and diagnose common faults in household electronics.
-
Understand how keeping things in use directly reduces local e-waste.
The demand for these skills in our community is clear. Across our workshops, 71% of participants have rated their experience as excellent, and 73% have expressed a serious interest in pursuing a career in electrical repair. By offering this new accredited format, we are helping local people turn a useful hobby into a recognised, employable skill.
Book your place for our upcoming Harrow workshops

Our next accredited training Level 1 sessions are heading to Harrow. We have two dates lined up:
-
Monday 14th: Women-only workshop
Following the brilliant feedback and high demand for our recent women’s session in Acton, we expect these places to go very quickly. Please book early to avoid missing out.
-
Friday 25th: Open-to-all workshop
This session is open to any local resident looking to learn the basics of electronics repair and start working towards accreditation.
Both sessions will cover small electrical diagnostics and repair basics. Venues will be confirmed as soon as you book.
