Our commitment to this community runs deep. AWL has its origins as Action Acton, and while our mission now extends across West London, our core dedication to Acton remains absolute. We are fiercely committed to bringing in external funding and resources—like these fantastic new grants—to ensure the continued social and economic health of this area.
This funding is a game-changer, allowing us to launch new initiatives designed to support local well-being and provide new community spaces, with a specific focus on the much-loved area around The Mount in Acton.
Key Initiatives: Making a Difference on The Mount
We are dedicated to ensuring this funding delivers maximum social value. Here is what we’re rolling out for the community:
- Four Free Community Events on The Mount in 2026: Get ready to gather! AWL will host four free-to-attend community events on The Mount throughout the coming year. These events are designed to create new opportunities for local residents to connect, celebrate, and enjoy public space together.
- Free Weekly Fitness Classes for Women: To prioritise health and well-being, the grant will specifically fund free, weekly fitness classes for women in the mornings. This initiative, supported by Sport England’s Movement Fund, aims to make exercise accessible and remove common barriers to participation. Click here to find out more.
