We are thrilled to share some incredible news! Following the phenomenal success of our free electrical skills training workshops over the last seven months, Action West London is officially taking community empowerment to the next level.
Seeing the sheer passion, dedication and talent in our community inspired us to dream bigger. Today, we are proud to celebrate the brilliant minds who completed our first Level 1 accredited course.

Celebrating Success: 12 Local Fixers Lead the Way
A massive congratulations to the 12 men and women who stepped up to take part in our Level 1 Richmond Council Fixery on Thursday 21st May! Led by our exceptional master trainer, Nick, this cohort rolled up their sleeves, embraced the challenge and proved that sustainability starts at the community level.
Through their hard work, these 12 residents did not just learn how to fix items—they became pioneers of a circular economy.
Mandy, who attended last months Women in fixing workshop shared how much the experience meant to her:
Craig Winters, Operations Manager, Action West London says;
“Seeing our first Level 1 cohort take place today is an incredibly proud moment for the West London community. The energy in the room and the sheer success of this day prove that moving from informal workshops to accredited Level 1 and Level 2 courses is exactly what our residents wanted. Today is not just about celebrating the massive achievement of these graduates; it is about proving that we have a successful, scalable model for technical education, waste reduction and building sustainable careers right here in our neighbourhood.” —
Bridging the Gap in Technical Training
This training pathway was born out of a powerful collaboration. By working closely with the West London Waste Authority (WLWA) and the technical experts at Qualified Fixers, we have developed a formal route that turns practical, hands-on repair skills into a recognised qualification.
This course has been specifically designed to bridge the gap between basic community repair knowledge and professional maintenance standards. Whether you are looking to enter the industry as a professional Fixer, or you simply want to master the art of technical repair, this qualification provides the perfect foundation for your career.
Accredited Excellence
Quality and safety are at the heart of everything we do. That is why these courses are fully accredited by one of the UK’s leading awarding bodies for vocational training, ensuring your new skills are respected industry-wide.
