We are proud to announce that our “Repair, Learn, and Certify” event in Hounslow on 26 March was a phenomenal success.

Following our impactful sessions in Greenford, Hillingdon, Richmond, and Brent, this workshop in Hounslow has further strengthened our mission: to provide high-quality vocational green skills and create pathways to steady jobs in London’s circular economy.

Workshop Highlights: Hands-On Action in Hounslow

On 26 March, we brought together a dedicated group of participants eager to master the basics of the trade. Guided by our lead fixers, trainees moved beyond theory into essential practical work. During the intensive session, participants mastered the fundamentals of electrical repair, including:

  • Safety Fundamentals: Mastering the core principles of working safely with small electrical items and appliances.

  • Basic Diagnostics: Learning how to identify common faults in household electronics using professional tools.

  • Repair Essentials: Gaining the skills needed to fix items that are traditionally destined for landfill.

  • Waste Reduction: Understanding how repair skills directly combat the growing issue of electronic waste (e-waste) in the UK.

Proving the Model: Data-Driven Impact

Since we started this series of workshops last year, 46 participants have completed the programme across five West London boroughs. Our results show that:

  • 69% of all participants rated their workshop experience as Excellent.

  • 81% of attendees expressed a firm desire to pursue a professional career in electrical fixing and appliance maintenance.

The results from Hounslow, combined with our previous workshops, confirm that there is a massive demand for technical skills training and green career paths in our community. These figures prove that our programme is not just teaching a hobby—it is building a skilled workforce for a more sustainable future.
