Action West London (AWL) are delighted to announce that we were honoured at the prestigious London Dangoor Awards 2024, held in late November at the Royal Society of Medicine.

Our team, including CEO Gary Buckley, Contracts and Partnerships Manager Craig Winters, and Acton Market Reduce and Recycle Hub Manager Mary Horesh, attended the event.

The Dangoor Awards, named after David Dangoor CBE DL, celebrate London’s Faith and Belief Communities and their contributions to society. Supported by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London’s Council on Faith, the awards were presented by the Lord Lieutenant, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE.

We are incredibly proud that our Reduce and Recycle Hub won the Environmental Sustainability category. Mary Horesh’s inspiring acceptance speech highlighted the power of simple actions to reduce, recycle, repair, and reuse, encouraging individuals to make a positive impact on the environment.

Additionally, AWL was recognised for our partnership with St Mary’s Church in Acton, demonstrating our commitment to inclusion and community building.

Attending the Dangoor Awards was a truly humbling experience. We were honored to be among so many dedicated faith-based and community organisations working tirelessly to create fairer, more cohesive societies. It is inspiring to see such a diverse group of individuals making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
