Long-Standing Action West London Trustee Vivienne Elizabeth Anderson Passes Away

 

Vivienne E Anderson was a founding member of Action West London (formerly Action Acton) and stalwart of the South Acton community.

Vivienne Anderson, known as ‘Viv’ to all her friends, founding member of Action West London charity and pillar within the South Acton community, passed away on Friday 23rd September 2022 at 8.20am. Her daughter by her side holding her hand.

Celebrated for her dedication to improving the lives of West London residents, Viv engaged in and supported key initiatives as a long-term member of the South Action Residents Action Group (SARAG). Additionally, Viv served as a Trustee and Secretary to Action West London for 24 years, providing an important community voice to the charity’s governance board.

In recognition of her work with Action West London, in 2013 Viv was invited to 10 Downing Street and presented with a Big Society Award by the Prime Minister.

Action West London Chair Tony Coyne said: “Viv’s dedication particularly to the South Acton community was admirable. She touched the lives of many people throughout West London and beyond. Despite periods of ill health in later years, she maintained a positive outlook and radiant smile. She was a real fighter and will be missed by everyone at Action West London as well as the larger community. With deep gratitude, I thank Viv for her many years of service and on behalf of the board of trustees, management and staff of Action West London, we extend our deepest sympathies to her family and Friends. She will dearly missed in the community. We have lost a wonderful  women who had a huge impact in Acton. Rest in peace Viv.

The funeral will be held  on Thursday 20th October @ 10.30am at Breakspear Crematorium, Breakspear Road, Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 7SJ.
