Thanks to funding from NatWest Skills & Opportunities we are pleased to announce that our free start your own business training is back with a number of options to suit your diaries.
We’ve got our regular morning workshops and in addition, on Friday, October 12th and Saturday 13th, we are running a Two Day Intensive to cover all of the topics in 36 hours. This will suit those of you who struggle to get regular time off work to attend our morning sessions. You are welcome to attend both days or just one, whichever suits you best.
We are also going to be running a couple of Lunch and Learn sessions in October to help you implement some of the things you need to do to get up and running. On Monday, October 8th we’ll have a finance session to help you with your budgeting or cash flow forecasting. On Monday, October 22nd the session will have a marketing focus and we’ll work on your plan or marketing materials, whichever you need. Bring your own lunch.
All sessions will take place at our offices at 16-18 Crown St Action W3 8SB. You can book your place by calling us on 0208 993 9605. You are free to just turn up on the day but places are limited so its best to book in advance. We’ll look at what’s involved in running a business, some key aspects of trading legally and what your business options are.
2: What is my business? Tuesday 4th Sept 10-3 combined with session 1 Tuesday 9th Oct 10-1
This session will help you to get clear on what you are really selling and who your ideal customers will be. We’ll also consider your competition and what research you should do to prove your idea is viable.
3: Making money Wednesday 11th Sept 10-1 Wednesday 17th Oct 10-3 Combined with session 5
Your business will need to be profitable so we’ll consider costs, pricing and making a profit.
4: Winning customers Friday 21st Sept 10-1 Wednesday 24th Oct 10-1
Every business needs customers and you will need a plan to win enough of them. This session will look at how your customer buys what you sell and what marketing you’ll need to do to win and keep those customers.
5: Financial planning Tuesday 25th Sept 10-1 Wednesday 17th Oct 10-3 Combined with session 5
We’ll look at the financial documents that will help you to manage finances. We’ll also have a quick look at tax and what you need to plan for.
6: Planning for success Wednesday 26thSept 10-1Wednesday 31st Oct 10-1
A business plan will help you to manage your business in a professional manner and is essential if you need to raise finance. This session will consider what should be in your business plan and other planning that will help you to business success
