About the role:

Our e-commerce volunteer will be supporting our busy online shop selling selected goods. This role requires a good eye, creative mind and a willingness to help out wherever needed.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Researching products
  • Creating detailed product descriptions
  • Assisting the e-commerce team with photography
  • Dealing with customer enquiries
  • Uploading product descriptions and image content on to e-commerce platforms
  • Garment care

Requirements and recommendations:

  • Dates and times: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
  • Applicants must be aged 16 and over

Personal Specification:

  • Trustworthy and reliable
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Respect for the policies

Technical skills:

  • IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both face-to-face and on the telephone
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • A strong team player
  • Ability to treat any personal, private or sensitive information with confidentiality

 Mandatory Training:

  • Gift Aid training
  • Retail Induction (health and safety; customer service; till training; stock)
  • After interview, should applicants be successful, we will take up two references and expect candidates to complete some online training followed by a day induction. Volunteers within the hospice may require a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check completed; this check will be carried out free of charge.
